Garage doors are made in three major materials. These are steel, GRP (Glass Reinforced Polyester) and timber. Please visit the manufacturers' sites to the right for full details

Steel is the most economical of the three materials. Styles range from horizontally and vertically ribbed to Georgian panelled.Steel doors are light and strong, they are available in prime, maintenance free powder coat, white plastasol or woodgrain plastasol.
Timber doors are mounted on a steel chassis and are usually made from cedar wood. There are many styles available, however all need to be for regularly maintained. Timber gives a natural look and can be painted or stained giving you versatility and choice.
Fibre glass constructed doors have two basic categories, gloss white and woodgrain. These doors make up the premier end of the market and the finish is 100% maintenance free. GRP doors are highly impact resistant and are still light and easy to lift. Dozens of styles are available and the woodgrain doors are designed to look and feel like the real thing, and can be installed where planning restrictions may apply.
Sectional doors have several advantages over traditional up and over doors. They are generally more secure, they seal better around the edge and they have better insulation options. They are back fixed to the opening, and some types do not require a timber frame.
